Frequently Asked Questions

Look below for answers to common questions, including costs, housing, bringing your family to Reunion, various activities, and much more. You should find answers to all of your questions below, within these class web pages, or at the general University Reunion pages. Otherwise, feel free to contact one of our Reunion Chairs.

  • Costs for attending Reunion will be announced in the spring.

All packages include class receptions and meals, souvenirs, on-campus shuttle bus service, Arts Quad tent parties, headquarters snacks and beverages, most university events, and more. Some athletic events, and a few ticketed university events are not included.

  • Yes, and we will guarantee availability of housing!

  • Absolutely! We've got an exciting range of class and university activities planned for everyone, including potential future Cornellians! Bring your family and introduce them to your alma mater. All class events are casual and the entire family is sure to enjoy the a cappella groups, class dinners, a multitude of campus activities and events, and our Saturday afternoon Fun-in-the-Sun extravaganza on the Arts Quad for younger and middle aged kids. While much of Reunion takes place on campus, don't forget to visit all the great sites for families off campus as well.

  • The class will be housed in the Court-Kay-Bauer Hall Complex on North Campus. Housing fees will be announced in the spring. $XX per adult per night or $XXX per adult for the entire 3-day weekend. For children 12 and under sleeping in a bed, the cost is $XX per child per night or $XX per child for the entire 3-day weekend. There is no fee for children staying in your own portable bed/sleeping bag. Hotel rooms in the Ithaca area are very limited during Reunion weekend. Further details on housing and hotels can be found at our Housing page.

  • The class registration desk will be open until either midnight or 1 a.m., but in case you arrive later, there will be someone on call and available from Residence Life to allow you entry into a room; you can then register with the class later that morning. The on-call person will be located on the ground floor of Robert Purcell Union at all times that the class registration desk is closed.

  • Remember the fun of late-night hallway hangouts and impromptu door-to-door visits? If you’d like to room near friends, list their names in the housing request section when you register—and make sure they list you too! To make it work, everyone needs to register by the Early Bird deadline and those that register earlier will be more likely to receive their requests. Although we can’t guarantee it, we’ll try our best to bring your crew together in one area.

  • Classmates attending Reunion by themselves (i.e. no guests or spouses) will not be sharing rooms with anybody else, unless specifically requested. (And even if two people share a room, the cost per person will be the same as if only one person was in the room.) You may be placed in a room with two beds, but won't share that room with anyone else unless you ask otherwise.

  • We recommend you inquire at Visit Ithaca and/or the online marketplaces for vacation rentals (e.g., Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Hotels.com).

  • Yes, but only if they register with the Class of '91 for the weekend. Only those that pay the Class of '91 registration fee are allowed to stay in the Class of '91 housing.

  • There are numerous sports and recreational opportunities throughout the weekend including the Reunion Run, golf, canoeing on Beebe Lake, a zip line across the Hemlock gorge (far end of Beebe Lake), rappeling off the Schoellkopf crescent, the Hoffman Challenge Course, horseback riding, and instructor-led time on the Lindseth Climbing Wall. The various fitness centers on campus will be available, as well as time for bowling, swimming, billiards, racquetball, squash, handball and more.

  • There will be tee times available at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University during Reunion Weekend. To schedule a tee time, we recommend that you call ahead (607-254-6531) or schedule it online.

  • Some of Cornell's traditional a cappella groups will be performing at Reunion. You'll be able to enjoy their singing at multiple university-wide events. They are always very popular, and details will be available as to the location and times of their performances on the general university Reunion website, as well as at our class headquarters during the weekend.

  • There will be plenty of time throughout the weekend to explore! We have structured the weekend's activities to allow you ample free time. If you intend to go to a favorite restaurant, reservations are recommended.

  • Pets are not allowed in the residence halls except for certified service animals. If your service animal is a dog, the university's policy on 'wandering dogs' has changed since we graduated. Dogs must now be on leash with their owners at all times while on campus.

  • There is no charge for parking anywhere on campus from Thursday at noon through Sunday. Cars will be ticketed though if they are parked in fire lanes, handicapped spaces, on lawns, or in spaces where signs indicate “Reserved at all times.”

  • Once registration begins in the spring, we will start posting a list of those planning to attend Reunion. We encourage you to contact other classmates to convince them to also attend Reunion. If you need assistance finding classmates, drop us an email and we should be able to help you contact them.

  • Although many meals are catered (more details in the spring) and included in your class registration fee, you can eat at your favorite places around campus and Ithaca for Friday and Saturday lunches, eat at Morrison Dining, Cornell Dining’s flagship location and recently awarded a Gold Medal for best Residential Dining Facility by the National Association of College & University Food Services, or Reunion CU for Lunch at the Terrace Restaurant in the Statler. If you intend to go to a favorite restaurant, reservations are strongly recommended.

  • If you have any special dietary restrictions, just let us know by May 25, and we should be able to accommodate your needs. You can indicate this when you register, or you may contact our Reunion Chairs.

  • Bob Petrillose (who sadly passed away in 2008) sold the Hot Truck to the owners of Shortstop Deli back in 2000. While the legendary Hot Truck itself no longer rolls onto campus for Reunion, you can still get your fix! Many of the iconic sandwiches such as PMP, WCG, MBC, and Sui, live on. They are served downtown at Shortstop Deli, open daily from 7a to 10p It may not be a 2am curbside grab anymore, but it’s still a delicious trip down Cornell memory lane.

  • During the weekend, we may have a place in our headquarters to post business cards. If you might be interested in this, or have other ideas, please contact our Reunion Chairs.

  • Casual. Shorts and t-shirts are perfectly fine for all events for the entire weekend. One can generally expect 90's during the day, 70's at night. As we have no way of predicting the Ithaca weather, also bring some warmer clothes; temperatures at some previous Reunions have been known to drop down into the upper 40's at night and only into the 50's during the day (remember our 15th year Reunion in 2006?!)

  • Along with following the dress code information in the previous question, here are a few other essentials to consider packing for the weekend:

    • Outdoor must-haves: Bug repellent, sunscreen, beach towel, and a bathing suit—especially if you plan to hit the creeks, lake, or state parks.

    • Weather prep: An umbrella (just in case it starts to Ithacate…).

    • Dorm comforts (if you’re staying on campus): A hairdryer, robe or cover-up (shared bathrooms), flip flops for the shower, and even your own pillow if you prefer it firm.

    • For families: If kids will be sleeping on the floor, consider bringing sleeping bags or an air mattress.

  • We’ve worked hard to keep Reunion fees as affordable as possible without compromising the quality of the weekend’s events. If your current financial situation makes it difficult for you to attend our 35th Reunion, please don’t let that stop you from joining us. Reach out confidentially to our Reunion Chair, Bob Baca, who can discuss options and help find a way to make it possible for you to be part of the celebration.

  • We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including differently abled individuals, to engage fully. When registering for Reunion, guests may add notes on accommodations. You can also connect directly with our Reunion Chairs to communicate any specific needs and you can access the University wide accessibility information.

  • Reunion information will be continually updated on these webpages as well as the general University Reunion website. If you are on Facebook, we also recommend you join the Cornell 91 Facebook page to obtain additional updates on Reunion. If you require further information, please contact our Reunion Chairs. They will be happy to assist you.
